Hey I know this post is kind of old I am having a problem with starting up Civ 3 on my Mac. I installed in through installing Steam on WineBottler. I started up Steam through Wine and went to play Civ 3 but the only thing that would happen is the screen would go white and then go back to the steam window. I tried changing the code in the conquests.ini which had a VoiceQuality=0 and added the 2lines of code you told me to put in.

The only thing that happened is I would be able to share screens on Skype and it would stay on the white screen but go back to the steam window right away. EDIT: BTW I'm trying to play on macbook pro 2012.
